I think this is a really pretty flower, don't you? Anyway, even if you don't, I like it. =) I finally saw Eat, Pray, Love today. I had fun walking around in the back room looking at all the cool posters while the shelves were being stocked. But as soon as the movie ended and we stepped out of the theater, I realized how hot it really was today. In the shade, it felt like at least 98, but it was sweltering in the sun.
106 the dashboard thermometer says in my mom's car, and she and I agree it's too hot to move. But groceries need to be bought and put in the fridge. Dinner needs to be made, and we have to chose from pasta or something that can be made in the microwave because yet again, something's wrong in this Hell we call our apartment. The oven's out this time, last time it was the sink, the time before that the plumbing and a cracked tile in the bathroom. No air conditioning in this heat isn't something that should be legal, but it's my life for the summer because this place doesn't have it. I have my mini fan on high and the lights out all day. But it's still too hot. At least it's cooler in here than it is in the rest of the place. Small victories...
Two trays of ice gone already, and we need another already. Too hot to move, too hot to think, too hot to sleep, too hot to do anything but lay in the bed in short shorts and a spaghetti strap shirt. We need relief from this heat. It was cold all summer, why now is it hot? Why right before school starts? Why when we can't enjoy it? It'll be cold again when school starts and summer ends. Grey days take over the sunny days we wished for, but never got. Class takes over where swimming should have been. Homework takes up our nights instead of sleepovers and late night hang outs. Still hanging with friends, but now it's gotta be scheduled between rehearsals, homework, and performances. Why does summer have to end?
